Our mission is to use the web as the primary discovery and distributions channel.
Just think of us as the Google Adwords/Adsense advertising network for apps. We use "rich media" ad units, disguised as mini app stores and placed on highly targeted websites to help app consumers discover great apps.
To all the app developers worldwide: How many of you find that your brand new, shiny app, is drowned out in the clutter of app stores? With the hundreds of thousands of apps in the stores, you say to yourself.. "There must be a better way to avoid the overcrowding and get my app discovered easier."
App developers get their apps found, consumers find cool & new apps and publishers get paid. Everybody goes home happy. :)
At the same time, we think, app developers are bullied by carriers and app stores. The low payouts and high fees imposed by them is just unfair. Therefore, we are creating a cross-platform marketplace that pays 95% payouts to app developers. (not applicable to "closed" platform such as iOS & WP7). This "wholesale" app market will cut out all middle-men and enable app developers to sell directly to app consumers.
MobileApps.com is incorporated in Singapore with seed funding from a JASDAQ-listed (Japan) company called i-Freek Ltd. They are also our major partner in Japan, where the translated website is in Japanese and supported by a local team.
Our R&D offices are in Kuala Lumpur and a tropical holiday island called Penang.
We have been written up in TechCrunch, ZDNet Asia, SlashGear, some even calling us the "Robin Hood to app developers".
